Inveneo has just established a permanent long-distance WiFi link from Port-au-Prince to Leogane, Haiti thanks to MultiLink, one of our local partners in Haiti and Rohan Mahy our newest Inveneo team member.
We are now in the process of connecting several more NGOs in Leogane in partnership with local ISPs and IT companies. This is the first rural region we are connecting in Inveneo's rural connectivity expansion in Haiti, and the news is spreading fast. We are now being approached by other NGOs who need reliable, high-speed Internet connectivity.
As we aggregate demand, we will mobilize local ICT companies to see the business case for providing innovative rural connectivity options and low power computing systems to NGOs in these underserved locations.
This work has been funded by a generous grant from the EKTA foundation.
